A sub-optimal weather day.

Today was not the finest day that I have ever seen in Glen Coe. I was very windy with heavy rain at all levels.  I headed up to the col on Buachille Etive Beag.

These two pictures were taken from the same place, but looking opposite directions.
A fair bit of snow on the East side of point 902m

However, not so much on the South or West side of Stob Coire Raineach (924m).

A brief return of winter.

The hills are looking quite nice and snowy up the the North East.

Ice is forming rapidly in the cold conditions. However, sounds like it is all going to melt over the next few days.

Fresh snow and strong winds

Walkers heading up the ridge to point 902m on Buachaille Etive Beag as a snow shower come in.

The view from point 902 South West to Stob Dubh in a brief clearing in the weather.  Note all the fresh snow on the left hand side of the ridge in the middle distance.

Cracks appearing from my footprints indicating instabilities within the new snow.
